The truly great people know that there will always be something or someone above them. They know that even if they led an army of millions of people and there was no human being to command them, they would have to bow their heads in humility because the balance demands it. Thus they lead the people and are secure in the allegiance of the creative power, the Dao or the destiny – whatever the eternal power is called, to whose grace they entrust themselves. This power alone stands for itself. Because it is eternal, it is alone as it is and needs no compensation. It works and nothing is what could work on it.
He who rules over millions and allows nothing and no one to judge and rule over him is far from being called a great man. He is a lonely person in fear and struggle. That is the right name for a person who knows no humility.
