You can’t say it was better 30 years ago. It’s like trees growing on a dioxin dump. Perhaps they blossomed more or more beautifully 30 years ago than they do today, after another 30 years of poisoning their bodies. But their fruits were already deadly then, too. Or led to profound, pathological changes in the organism of the one who was forced to feed on them.
Pain must never be allowed to guide us. Our actions grow out of the fearless knowledge of our security in the meaning, of our soulfulness and of the eternal unity of everything. We always act in love for everything and everyone. There is no inner separation. Pain alone must never guide us.
