Mind and heart 2

A shaman from Bhutan, whom I respect very much, once said: „Mind and Heart. You in the West always want to reach only the extreme. Either all Mind or all Heart. We live in the middle. “And I think that it is really so. Many suffer from the fact that they give themselves soullessly exclusively to the material world and its administrator and guardian – the mind. Others suffer just as much from their – let’s be honest: rather unrealistic – goal of immediately wanting to equal Buddha or Jesus in enlightenment. Less is apparently not possible. They harden because they cannot live up to their expectations. Because you are not only „Heart“ but also „Mind“. And „Mind“ gets annoyed sometimes and is unfriendly and wants new shoes (When he already gets almost nothing else that he likes!). It is the balance of mind and soul that we have to look at from the outside with our consciousness. Both sides have their needs and it is up to us to grant them in the right measure.

Pain must never be allowed to guide us. Our actions grow out of the fearless knowledge of our security in the meaning, of our soulfulness and of the eternal unity of everything. We always act in love for everything and everyone. There is no inner separation. Pain alone must never guide us.
