Explosions – there’s nothing man loves more in film than explosions. Explosions are the means of absolute separation. Nothing tears something apart more and more definitively than an explosion. This is the kind of thing the mind loves – if it doesn’t affect him personally. To separate what is separated from him still further and finally is convenient for him. To be separated even finally and completely, he fears. He loves the annihilation of others because he loves the principle. He fears his own annihilation, because he knows no unity, but only a further and further increase of separation. That is his fear. But with the Principle itself he agrees completely.
