When, as a pupil – freshly in love – I was taught in biology class that love was only a cascade of chemical processes, I was deeply shocked. This is what children learn about the world, so that none of them would get lost in false ideas about love… The one-sided view.
Of course, love is also a cascade of chemical processes. A part of love, the earthly one. Matter’s desire for unity. External unity. But even these molecules that produce this chemical reaction in the human body are ultimately soul force, the illusion that something like matter exists at all. Everything is meaning. Everything is destiny. Everything is guided. Everything is eternal and infinite love. Children know this. Until something else is drummed into them. And then they are alone and spend their lives looking for support in other lonely people.
Incidentally, two studies from 2021 (commissioned by the Federal Association of German Banks [BDB] and Union Invest) have shockingly shown that children have far too little economic knowledge! The majority did not even know what a share is! That’s not possible. Where is this supposed to lead? Are the kids all slowly becoming Fridays-for-Futures ascetics? No consumption? No worship of money? No more dependence on the banks and corporations? No more clouding of the senses? No more „carry on!“ in pain? There is only one thing that can help, it is more or less already given in a question of the BDB study to the participants: Introduce economics as a school subject! Of course! If capitalist life is no longer efficient enough to teach children what makes them tick, then re-education must begin early and institutionally. No more humanists. No more independent thinkers. No innovators. No! We want money and consumption slaves! Who, with fear and delusions of grandeur, lose themselves in stock speculation and don’t even think that everything could be completely different. That this system is not God-given natural law. That the true meaning is to be found somewhere else.
Perhaps the subject of economics could run alongside biology, physics and chemistry. As a fourth science subject, so to speak… That would be something… Then this teaching would be truly irrefutable!
