Tolstoy says it in one sentence: Life without spiritual knowledge is not possible. Life contains two sciences and one of them is that of infinity. Without this science, man falls into degeneration because of the meaninglessness of his life.
Humanity as a whole is increasingly losing its knowledge of the soul. The driving force was Europe, which lost all inner knowledge through the Catholic Church and its suppression of true inner knowledge while promoting its possession and power structures. Through the resulting confusion of human consciousness, soulless systems such as capitalism were then able to prevail and spread globally due to their material power of suggestion and penetration in relation to the material, animal qualities of man.
