Self-righteousness means that everyone is wrong except oneself. Self-righteousness means there is nothing above me; I am God. Having to be one’s own God means loneliness for a person. It means groundless lostness for a human being. Loneliness and lostness mean fear. Fear seeks a cause. Cause demands guilt. If one has found the alleged culprit, then one can gaslight him according to one’s own self-righteous logic of fear. Then there is only one’s own self-righteousness and maybe then the fear will give way. – But it will not give way. If all guilty ones are consumed, then the self-righteous ones consume themselves from the inside. This is the logic of the Nazis, the logic of the mind, the logic of separation, the logic of evil suffering from itself.
