I look at this car and realise – somewhat wistfully – that this is over. Those days of hedonism, of epicureanism, of self-reference are over. We can no longer be children who enjoy their personal toys out of pure self-pleasure – and for whom that is and will be everything in their lives.
It is time to grow up. Time to straighten up in our sandboxes and cross their boundaries with a sure and purposeful step. It is time to take responsibility for the world. For creation.
The time to waste our lives in self-forgetfulness and world-forgetfulness, in drive-gratification, is definitely over. Definitely…
