The mind strives for total control. Only in this way, he thinks, he would lose his fear. If he had brought everything to the absolute zero point of -273.15 °C, then no atom would move anymore. The smallest elementary particle would be absolutely still. The whole space would stand absolutely still and the mind would have all time of the world to look at each of these immovable particles and to recognize that they would represent no more danger in their immobility. This would be the absolute rest. This would be living death. This would be the controlled death. But the mind cannot produce this absolute state. This remains its ideal. Some people create the living death in themselves and in their lives instead. Others, failing to do so, generate the appearance of the opposite – dead life – in grand tam and in increasing volume. Many of these eventually collapse. They do then reach the visible state of a living death.
Nevertheless, the mind is aware that these states are not the true living death and that the „real“ death will still come and take over at some point. True living death has only one goal and therefore it must encompass everything without exception. The goal is to gain victory over „real“ death. Because: if I control everything, if I control time and space and every part in it, then I control death. But since I am not able to direct with the mind every part in the sense of an eternal equilibrium in its infinite relations and entanglements, states and developments, the only pragmatic – and also manageable to the mind – solution is the general torpor. One state for everything. A single state of maximum control for everything.
That is the only thing that counts. No matter how, but the control must not be given to the real death, to the cycle, to the fate, yes, to the sense of the world.
If it were not for the voice of the soul, the world would have completely frozen long ago. Perhaps it would never have been different since eternities. The soul brings the true movement. And it brings the true rest. It does not control, because in unity there is nothing to control.
