You don’t realise that not everyone can work and work all the time. There must be those who hold. Those who carry. Those who accept. Those who love.
These must be encouraged, must be kept alive. Otherwise everything is doomed. For all work is an empty deed if it is done only for its own sake. Then one works and must lie to oneself in order to be able to divine even the slightest meaning in it.
Pain must never be allowed to guide us. Our actions grow out of the fearless knowledge of our security in the meaning, of our soulfulness and of the eternal unity of everything. We always act in love for everything and everyone. There is no inner separation. Pain alone must never guide us.
