The world is full of signs that show us the way. Man can recognize these signs only when he is in leisure. Leisure is the state in which the mind is shut down. In which it leaves room for spiritual experience. In the world of the mind, leisure is abolished. If the leisure threatens, then there is now the smartphone and it is read with it by the human being and replied and tweeted and retweeted and senseless pictures, films, bad jokes are sent and received, read and evaluated and deleted and sent on and much more. Not a single character can be detected that way. The only signs that are received are those of the mind. And these signs exist only on the screen. If man is then suddenly in what he would call leisure – by accident; by chance – then man is alone, because his consciousness is still dominated by the ego and is not able to recognize the signs. To recognize the divine. To recognize the meaning. In his loneliness, man recognizes only the meaninglessness of his existence. His mortality. He then becomes aware of nothing else. Depression follows. Followed by renewed activity. In the „best“ case. So what is generally called leisure is not leisure, but only inactivity. It is only a time of the ego’s external lack of activity. In real leisure, the ego is not only unemployed. In real leisure, the ego is still. And small. There is no perception of loneliness then. Only the certainty of security and oneness. Gratitude and humility.
