Out of the tensions between the peoples, the danger of war and war has developed – first in parallel, then almost exclusively – a permanent, all-pervading state of war. Instead of peoples, companies now fight each other; instead of soldiers, workers and employees are entertained. As in medieval times, they share in the spoils of their campaigns of conquest. The state provides the framework. The civil servants do not fight. They live off the booty that the soldiers fight for and keep the arena intact.
The people fight every day! Without ceasing. And not only in their companies as soldiers against other companies on countless battlefields, but also against their fellow soldiers for power and position, perhaps just for bare survival, and beyond that they fight in their own imposed or self-ignited wars against the other fellow human beings. The eternal war. That is how it is taught. Always at war! „We live, after all, in a meritocracy…“ is the fatalistic credo that describes this supposedly God-given condition. The whole world is now barracks. Everyone, man, woman or child, gets his drill. Conscription for life…
From an early age, children are hurt in schools to incite their selfish will to survive. The grading system has no mercy. Like fighting dogs, like dogs of war, they are teased until they are as biting and determined as the Lord demands of them. They have then buried deep within themselves the all-embracing love that is in them.
No one has any more thoughts, let alone words of peace, love, humility, peace, security, inner meaning. Trained in the drill of the barracks. And the victims, the victims usually die quietly. One is at a loss. After all, the war has been repressed. Life is good after all… They die of their own fault. They must be mad. Or ungrateful. Or unwilling to serve…
