The mind, knowledge, is the reason for our expulsion from paradise. It is said that now that we can judge, we can choose between good and evil. But we cannot choose. Or rather, what we can choose is of no real consequence. Choosing is a volitional act performed through the mind and by its means. It involves weighing, judging, classifying. In this way, we are always stuck with things because there is nothing more than things to judge and because it is not possible to judge anything other than things or material phenomena. To judge means to separate. Thus, we do not get beyond the phenomenon of „good“ and „evil“ in material existence. Thus, in this concentration on the worldly, we neglect our otherworldly aspects. If we would consult our soul instead of our mind, we would not come to a decision – a choice – between „good“ and „evil“, but we would come to the realization of the meaning and the truth. The meaning and the truth exist independently of the material ideas of „good“ and „evil“. Independently of a judgment about „good“ and „evil“ developed by human experience and cultural influence. Thus it has already his reason that Adam and Eve were banished from the paradise because of the attainment of the knowledge (judgment) ability. The ability to judge (or the compulsion to have to judge everything) makes us believe that it is above good and evil and can separate them. In truth, judgment is itself a part of good and evil. A part of the phenomena of this world. From it, phenomena such as good and evil are created only through separation, and so it prevents us from attaining the meaning and truth on the soul, otherworldly level. Everyone knows that we have lost paradise because of the attainment of our ability to judge – our ability to separate – but regardless of this, in our society this „ability“ (you can also call it a disability) is held high, like the holy grail. Our ability or compulsion to separate the world into things and space and time is touted as an outstanding and superior characteristic of our race…. In the process, we have lost the truth and the meaning, and we grandly imagine something about the shadow play of something that the mind – sometimes this way and that, depending on where and how it is acting at the moment – labels as the power of judgment about „good“ and „evil.“ If one reads the history of Adam and Eve, one would have to try everything to get rid of this cognitive faculty again in order to be able to move finally again into the paradise… But this is also only a realization and a judgment on my part. The truth is not it therefore…
