A humiliation… A word of the ego. It denotes a situation in which the ego has been rendered incapable of acting, cannot act in its own interests, and must admit this to itself and to others. The ego has been limited.
Humility… A word of the soul. It denotes a situation in which the consciousness limits the ego itself to follow the guidance in devotion.
For the unlimited ego, humiliation and humility are one and the same.
Pain must never be allowed to guide us. Our actions grow out of the fearless knowledge of our security in the meaning, of our soulfulness and of the eternal unity of everything. We always act in love for everything and everyone. There is no inner separation. Pain alone must never guide us.
