The basis on which everything is built in Western man is that of the wounded, lonely and fearful child. All action has its origin in this state of being. This child is our ego. Our task is not only to be a child, but at the same time to become father, mother, brother and sister. These are our soul knowledge.
Pain must never be allowed to guide us. Our actions grow out of the fearless knowledge of our security in the meaning, of our soulfulness and of the eternal unity of everything. We always act in love for everything and everyone. There is no inner separation. Pain alone must never guide us.
