The path of the middle is a narrow ridge

The path of the middle is a narrow ridge. Staying on it and not drifting away and losing oneself in things or in dinglessness is not so easy. It requires effort on the level of consciousness. It takes consciousness. It requires awareness. The task of consciousness is to connect material and spiritual experience to being human. To keep the balance and to walk on the narrow ridge. But without a consciousness that perceives soul and matter equally, the ridge cannot be recognized. To a consciousness that is flooded with ego, the ridge appears like a border that it must not touch or even cross. This consciousness then remains to the right of the ridge in its land of separation and wasteland, which stretches in the other directions in the most painful hopelessness to infinity. Thereby it would only need to take a few steps in the direction of the „border“ to walk on the ridge. Everything would get sense again.

A consciousness that is filled with spiritual experience also does not see the ridge. For this consciousness the country left and right of the ridge is one. This shines in brightest light, in which there is nothing else than just this light. Nothing is to be distinguished for it. No things exist. No left and no right. No narrow ridge. Only white light. This consciousness is completely otherworldly and also sees things only in their otherworldly origin, their soulfulness. It stands very deep and deep, infinitely deep in the land left of the ridge. If it would know ways and directions, then it could go in the direction of the ridge. The more it approached the ridge, the more substance, matter, the world would receive again. The consciousness would then be able to recognize the human being. To understand the human being. To see man in unity. And to love him in this way. It could feel pain and it could feel compassion for the pain of the other beings separated in oneness. It could let the sense materialize.

The narrow ridge is a limit for the ego, because it knows only this way or that, only black or white. It cannot imagine balancing on the narrow ridge and playfully and joyfully stretching out a leg to the left and to the right.

The narrow ridge is non-existent for the soul. It cannot imagine that there can be anything other than the One. Where eternity and infinity rule, there is no middle and certainly no left or right.

The narrow ridge is life as a human being. If our consciousness moves away from this ridge, it becomes one-sided, and that is the death of human life.

Pain must never be allowed to guide us. Our actions grow out of the fearless knowledge of our security in the meaning, of our soulfulness and of the eternal unity of everything. We always act in love for everything and everyone. There is no inner separation. Pain alone must never guide us.
